Smithville Room

Smithville, founded in 1792, was the original name of Southport, NC. The charming town is known as a popular destination due to the steady sea breezes, historic architecture, pirate legends, and quiet southern hospitality. Southport, host of the Official North Carolina 4th of July celebration, is only a short distance from our Sunset Beach Hotel and makes for a great day trip. The Smithville Room, located on the lobby level, envelops you in the feeling of days gone by and is the epitome of a southern coastal getaway. The cooling blue hues combine elegantly with the crisp white furnishings and put you right at ease. A peaceful rest here is inspired by a gentler, friendlier period of time you’ll forever know as Smithville.
